Women's Aid's ultimate aim is to create a society, which does not tolerate violence against women (Zero Tolerance). Women's Aid believes that in order to eliminate violence against women, people's attitudes to violence must be changed and violence against women must become unacceptable at every level of Irish society.

In order for violence to become unacceptable, people need to be aware of the seriousness of domestic violence, the barriers women face as they try to leave a violent partner, as well as the truth behind the myths about domestic violence. Through the combined work of its policy research and communications departments, Women's Aid uses the following methods to highlight and create awareness of domestic violence in Ireland:
