The Education and Awareness programme ran from 1994 to 2001, and was unfortunately discontinued due to lack of funding. This work involved devising, developing and implementing education workshops and awareness events in schools, the youth sector, 3rd level colleges and the voluntary and community sector. The aim of the Education and Awareness Programme was to create and raise awareness amongst target groups and the general public about the issue of violence against women by men within intimate relationships. This was achieved by facilitating workshops and events to enable participants to gain a deeper understanding of the issue, to make the links between violence against women and wider socio-political concerns and to mobilise target groups through focused projects to respond to the issue of violence against women.
