LEADERSHIP COURSE:
Violence Against Women: From Practice to Policy

  • Facilitating an understanding of a feminist analysis of violence against women and exploring the role of advocates in working to support women experiencing male violence
  • Facilitating an understanding of the issues of power, privilege and entitlement as they apply to male violence against women and exploring the interconnections between additional forms of oppression and discrimation experienced by women
  • Exploring the role of advocates in working to influence policy changes in relation to violence against women
  • Acknowledging the unique nature of working with women experiencing violence and to explore the impact of the work on staff and volunteers
  • Provide a model of support and supervision to front line staff working on violence against women

Course dates:
Residential 1: Mon 29th March - Wed 31st March 04
Residential 2: Mon 10thMay - Wed 28th May 04
Residential 3: Mon 21st June - Wed 23rd June 04
