Womens Aid Training Courses
  • Developing awareness of the causes, patterns and effects of domestic violence; women's experience of managing or leaving abusive relationships; options and obstacles that effect women's choices.

  • Providing information on: the extent of domestic violence, the range of services available; policies and procedures of the various agencies plus information on housing and social welfare and on civil and criminal law.

  • Providing specialised modules on the impact of domestic violence on children, legal protection available for women and issues relating to the development of services in the community to meet the needs of women.

  • Developing in conjunction with agency staff, good practice responses, policies and procedure which maximise the safety of women and children.

  • Developing effective and realistic multi-agency work by exploring and clarifying the roles and expectations of voluntary and statutory agencies in your area.

  • Exploring the wider socio-political context in which violence against women occurs and identifying a range of responses that are necessary in achieving its ultimate elimination.

  • Women's Aid also provides specialist training on the area of domestic violence and women's health for a variety of health care providers.
