Womens Aid Training Approach
  • Encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience.

  • Provide a framework for understanding the complexities of domestic violence.

  • Recognise both the differences and similarities between women and the additional barriers and discrimination facing different groups of women in society.

  • Provide a space and structure for participants to critically examine their own perceptions and practice, and to move towards improving practice in the organisation.

  • Identify and build upon participants existing skills and expertise.

  • Reflect on current good practice models, research findings and legislation.

  • Promote interagency work by exploring the roles and expectations of voluntary and statutory agencies.
