The Identification and Treatment of women admitted to an Accident and Emergency Department as a result of assault by spouses /partners This study was undertaken to establish how frequently women told hospital staff that injuries were as a result of violence by a partner, the nature of injuries inflicted and the number of repeat admissions, and the response of Accident and Emergency staff, when treating a woman subjected to violence by a partner.
