Professor Liz Kelly and Doctor Linda Regan have both worked for over ten years at the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit, University of North London, which has a national and international reputation for its research methodologies, theory and practice, especially in relation to connections between forms of sexualised violence. The Unit has completed over 20 research projects, primarily in the areas of child sexual abuse and domestic violence and is currently working on projects around rape and trafficking of women. They recently completed the first ever research on trafficking of women into the UK for the purposes of sexual exploitation. Prof. Liz Kelly was awarded the CBE for her work on combating violence against women in January 2000.
